Senior Trainer, ICF Certified (ACC)

Throughout her 15-year career as a clinical social worker, Kat has always centered social justice values, and maintained that authentic relationships grounded in cultural humility have the capacity to transform lives. She has worked with youth in Boston-area residential, re-entry, home-based, college and community settings. In 2015 Kat completed the Fostering Success Level I coach training. She has been truly inspired and humbled by her work as a coach. Before joining the FSCI training team in 2022, she served as the Director of Clinical Scholar Coaching at the Wily Network from 2015 to 2022, coaching Wily Scholars and supervising coaches.

Kat cherishes the opportunities she has been given to collaborate with her FSCI co-trainers in bolstering the capacity of trainees to partner with the young people in ways that make them feel whole, seen, connected and capable of envisioning and living their desired lives. In 2023 Kat and her FSCI colleague, Sam Garman, co-founded Equity Grounded Coaching (EGC). EGC is a training focused on acknowledging how the dynamics of power/privilege and implicit bias play out in
coaching relationships. It offers trainees time to explore how to move towards greater accountability, interdependence, and authenticity in their relationships with themselves and those they coach.

In addition to being a senior trainer on the FSCI team, Kat is an independent consultant and offers training, coaching and supervision to frontline workers, supervisors and managers. She also facilitates groups for college students designed to foster belonging and self-determination. Kat received her B.A. from Oberlin College and her Masters in Social Work from Simmons School of Social Work.
